What Do You Do if You Find a Stray?
Clay County Animal Services (CCAS) Ordinance for Impounding of Found/Stray Animals “ALL animals found as strays are required to be turned into Clay County Animal Services within 48 hours of being contained.
This allows for Animal Services to be the centralized location for animals to be relocated with their rightful owners“. Animal Services Officers are available 7 days a week, except holidays.
Be mindful that this facility could be closed for stray intakes and you may have to secure the animal until it is re-opened. You can contact the CCAS at 904-269-6342.
All animals impounded will be examined by shelter veterinary staff, vaccinated, treated for internal and external parasites, altered and microchipped.
